Barry is a highly experienced Recruitment professional with over 10 year’s experience working for leading recruitment agencies both in Ireland and Australia. He has a strong background in Business Development, Sales & Marketing roles with valuable experience & knowledge gained across multiple industries.
Barry is a native of Co. Clare where he currently resides and is a sporting enthusiast with a strong background in GAA and is still heavily involved with his local club Parteen-Meelick GAA.
After completing a Degree in Business Studies from Limerick IT in 2005, Barry started off his career working in Marketing for a leading construction firm in the UK where he spent 2 successful years gaining excellent experience working from their HQ in London. He then took up a role as Business Development & Marketing Manager for a leading construction company in Ireland before relocating to Australia in 2008, where he spent the next 8 years working in various roles across the Construction, Property, Media, Financial Services & Recruitment sectors.
Having spent 3 years working for two of Australia’s leading recruitment firms in Brisbane with Michael Page and Hudson, Barry returned home to his native Co. Clare in 2016, where he commenced employment with Irelands largest recruitment agency Cpl. As a Senior Recruitment Consultant based in their Limerick office, Barry specialised in Commercial recruitment across the Munster region. After almost 5 years with Cpl, Barry moved on from the company and built up a new start-up recruitment agency in January 2021 with Optima Recruitment Ltd. based in Castletroy, Limerick.
In just a few months, he laid the foundations, developed strong client relationships, assembled a small team from scratch, and placed a significant amount of candidates in various roles across the Munster region and nationwide with success. He has been able to leverage off this extensive experience to now form part of the Senior Management team with Elite Talent Hub.
As Commercial Director for Elite Talent Hub, Barry is focused on bringing a value driven, customer focussed partnership to our clients and developing long-term relationships. He endeavours to develop a genuine understanding of our client’s business strategy and company culture and be a trusted advisor on all matter’s recruitment.
