Job Description: Electrical Commissioning Manager – Data Centre, Vienna, Austria

Job Purpose

The Electrical Commissioning Manager will lead and oversee the commissioning engineering team to ensure all projects comply with company quality assurance standards and commissioning policies. The role involves collaborating with Project Managers and Site Management to guarantee that projects are commissioned according to project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Ensure that projects meet the highest standards and comply fully with regulatory requirements, design documentation, specifications, technical submittals, and manufacturers' guidelines.
• Continuously review and update quality and commissioning systems and procedures to align with project and industry standards.
• Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary and cross-functional teams to establish and implement standard operating procedures, processes, and technical requirements for commissioning activities.
• Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to project personnel and ensure Project Engineers are trained in commissioning processes and documentation.
• Coordinate and facilitate the review and sign-off of required mock-ups by project stakeholders, ensuring these are documented and communicated effectively for future reference.
• Manage and coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) with equipment vendors, ensuring all testing and documentation meet project specifications.
• Conduct periodic installation inspections and issue audit documentation per company procedures, ensuring all audit findings are resolved within the agreed timeframes.
• Organize system walk-downs with project stakeholders following company commissioning protocols and quality management practices.
• Manage client expectations during handover, setting high standards for excellence.

Commissioning

• Collaborate with Contract/Project Management teams to plan and schedule the commissioning phases of projects. Identify milestones and ensure systems are fully functional for client handover.
• Participate in in-depth technical reviews of installation and commissioning processes.
• Develop project-specific Commissioning Plans, defining responsibilities and ensuring all team members and stakeholders understand and can manage their commissioning roles within the required timeframe.
• Specify commissioning roles and scopes for design, commissioning, and construction teams. Prepare the commissioning plan and coordinate it with the validation plan as needed.
• Support the development of start-up, commissioning, and safety plans, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Monitor commissioning results to meet technical specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare progress reports for project stakeholders.
• Coordinate and attend design, construction, start-up, and commissioning phases for all electrical systems.
• Ensure all record documentation (O&M manuals, record drawings, BCAR certificates, Life Safety System Certificates, and other regulatory documentation) is complete and prepared for issuance at PC stage for each project.
• Contribute to the commissioning aspects of commercial bidding.
• Maintain and contribute to training logs, skills matrices, and records for the engineering and commissioning teams.
• Lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers.
• Oversee the output and technical deliverables of vendors.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in M&E engineering.
• Proven experience working with databases and systems, including data input and extraction.
