I’m currently working on an opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a generation facility in Dublin.
This is a hands-on role within a high-performing maintenance team, supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical power plant infrastructure.You’ll be working across a wide range of mechanical systems — from valves and pumps through to large rotating equipment — carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.
It’s a role suited to someone who is practical, self-driven, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities
- Working on pumps, valves, gearboxes and large plant equipment
- Supporting installation and removal of heavy mechanical systems
- Maintaining accurate records via CMMS systems
- Preparing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
- Operating under safe systems of work and site safety procedures
- Supporting wider maintenance and plant activities as required
What I’m looking for:
- 2–5+ years’ experience in power generation or heavy industry (thermal, hydro, renewables or similar)
- Strong hands-on mechanical maintenance background
- Experience working on rotating equipment and plant systems
- Understanding of maintenance procedures in industrial environments
- Strong safety mindset and team collaboration
- Good organisational and IT skills
Requirements:
- Mechanical trade qualification (SOLAS / FÁS or equivalent)
- Full driving licence
- Flexibility for callouts when required
- Experience with lifting/slinging and manual handling
- Workshop experience (machining, welding, etc.)
- Familiarity with permit systems
- Supervisory experience
