My client are a specialist mechanical building services engineering firm operating across Ireland and mainland Europe. Theyve delivered major projects in sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, power generation, industrial, commercial, office and healthcare. Their reputation is built on technical excellence, reliability and consistently delivering complex projects to the highest standards.
With a rapidly growing footprint and an expanding project pipeline across Europe, they’re now strengthening their commercial/estimating function with the appointment of a Senior QS to join them in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all pre- and post-contract QS duties for mechanical projects.
• Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions.
• Conduct mechanical quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor negotiation and contract administration.
• Monitor project costs, variations, valuations and overall commercial performance.
• Provide commercial insight, reporting and support to project managers and senior leadership.
• Mentor junior QS team members and support ongoing department development.
• Ensure compliance with company processes, industry standards and H&S requirements.
• Produce weekly progress and monthly cost reports for the Regional Director.
• Track actual vs budgeted expenditure and maintain WIP logs.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, commercial alignment and contract compliance.
Key Skills:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in mechanical/building services quantity surveying.
• Strong track record on large-scale mechanical projects.
• Excellent understanding of HVAC, plumbing, process pipework and mechanical systems.
• Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in CostX, Trimble, Excel, AutoCAD or related software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
