Our client is seeking an energetic and results-driven Assistant Branch Manager to support the Branch Manager in Sandyford, Dublin,  in delivering operational excellence, commercial growth, and outstanding customer service. This role involves overseeing day-to-day branch activities, ensuring operational targets are met, and fostering a motivated, high-performing team. You will take responsibility for guiding staff, managing workflows, and maintaining a professional, customer-focused environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Branch Manager to deliver branch objectives and growth plans.
  • Monitor and enhance service standards to ensure a first-class customer experience.
  • Drive improvements in branch performance across sales, profitability, and efficiency metrics.
  • Oversee cash office functions and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
  • Maintain and update customer and supplier agreements, pricing, and contracts.
  • Manage stock, including aged and special items, while supporting stock control processes.
  • Resolve escalated customer or supplier issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant branch record keeping.
  • Support operational areas, including sales counter, goods-in, reception, and order processing, when required.
  • Lead by example to promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Oversee retail operations, ensuring visual standards and merchandising are maintained.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety standards, and operational controls.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritise tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office software.
  • Experience in a customer-facing, multi-functional branch or retail setting.
  • Third-level qualification in a business-related field is an advantage but not essential.
