Our client, a leading Civil Engineering and Construction company are now on the lookout for an experienced Contracts Manager, based in Dublin. They have built a strong reputation for excellence across a diverse range of projects, from residential and commercial developments to large-scale infrastructure. As they continue to expand, the Contracts Manager to play a key role in this expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan projects to ensure the site team can execute them efficiently and without delays.
- Manage the procurement and reconciliation of materials in line with company procedures to secure the best value and avoid project delays.
- Ensure that the site team adheres to the company's commercial policies and procedures.
- Lead tender handover meetings and conduct pre-start briefings for the site team.
- Develop, monitor, and update a commercial plan and project forecasts to ensure successful project delivery.
- Generate and analyze progress reports, cost updates, and forecasts.
- Ensure proper commercial engagement with subcontractors.
- Implement and manage the risk management process, including reviewing risk registers and controls.
- Review Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) with project teams on a monthly basis and take necessary actions.
- Complete and distribute Contract Initiation and Completion forms for each project.
- Conduct weekly reviews of project progress, budget, resources, and forward planning; ensure lookahead programs are in place.
- Lead and participate in both internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions are maintained.
- Oversee the management of temporary and permanent design requirements for each project.
- Exemplify the highest standards of leadership in promoting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal obligations.
- Assign HS&E responsibilities to site personnel, verify their understanding, and provide training as needed.
- Oversee construction sites and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to group procedures and standards.
- Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation, conduct senior manager site inspections, and ensure that audits and reports are generated in coordination with relevant parties.
- Coordinate with third parties to ensure compliance with HAUC, NRSWA, Chapter 8, and other regulatory standards.
- Ensure that inspection and test plans are developed and followed.
- Oversee the production and maintenance of the QA File.
- Promote and implement best practices across projects.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that project activities are carried out in a way that minimizes impact on the community.
Key Skills:
- Extensive project management experience within civil engineering or water environments.
- Strong knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, program and risk management, and cost control, including forecasting and value reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Project.
- Familiarity with the NEC contract, including Early Warning and Compensation Event processes.
- Minimum educational qualification of HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent).
- SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS card.
- Experience in the Pre-Qualification and Tendering processes for various multi-discipline projects.
- Exceptional people management skills with the ability to mentor and influence others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective with both customers and all levels of staff.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
