Elite Talent Hub LTD is a specialist in permanent staffing solutions for clients globally.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer to support the development, implementation, and validation of advanced control systems for cutting-edge automated test and assembly equipment for our client based in Shannon, Co Clare.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, specify, and develop robust control systems for custom-built automated equipment.
  • Develop and implement control software for all new machinery.
  • Lead the commissioning and validation of both new and modified control systems.
  • Plan and deploy software upgrades across existing control systems, ensuring seamless rollout.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to the machine build team throughout the full project lifecycle, including design, assembly, debugging, and commissioning.
  • Participate in and contribute to multidisciplinary design reviews.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all control systems and software changes.
  • Ensure adherence to project deadlines, budgets, and technical targets.

 

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proficient in PLC and HMI programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Solid understanding of robotics, servo-electric, and pneumatic motion control systems.
  • Working knowledge of machine safety regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a creative and analytical mindset.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Level 7 or 8 degree in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar engineering role within a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
