Electrical Estimator

Our client, a leading electrical and instrumentation contractor with operations across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their expanding commercial team. This opportunity has arisen due to internal progression, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to development and advancement from within.

With a diverse project portfolio across high-growth sectors including technology, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, and energy, the successful candidate will be involved in preparing competitive tenders for major projects both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and compile cost estimates and tender submissions for large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct detailed take-offs and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering alternatives where appropriate.
• Participate in pre- and post-tender discussions and clarify commercial or technical queries.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure all elements of the tender process are aligned and submitted on time.
• Deliver project handovers to operational teams following contract award.
• Maintain accurate records and cost databases to support ongoing commercial strategies.

Candidate Profile:

• Background in the electrical contracting sector is essential; experience in instrumentation or BMS is beneficial but not required.
• Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar estimating role.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative commercial team.
