Our clients are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Financial Accountant to join their Finance Department based in Blanchardstown, Dublin. This is a senior-level role reporting directly to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Group Cost Accountant and other senior finance leaders. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, forecasting, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives across the group.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage finance teams to ensure timely and accurate internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare and analyse consolidated Group Financial Statements within strict deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare trading updates and financial commentary for key stakeholders.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership to the wider finance team.
  • Manage the annual audit process with external auditors, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
  • Ensure the effectiveness and consistent application of financial controls.
  • Identify and lead finance function improvement initiatives, including automation and system enhancements, to drive efficiency and service quality.
  • Support business development efforts through financial insight and analysis.
  • Foster a culture of continuous professional development and training within the finance team.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.

 

Desirable Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong technical accounting expertise.
  • Proven commercial acumen and experience in supporting strategic financial projects.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of Irish tax legislation.
  • Experience in managing complex financial environments and delivering results.
  • Demonstrated success in project management and system implementation.
