Goods Inward Operative

Our client, a leading supplier of construction materials, is currently seeking a Goods Inward Operative to join their busy team in Sandyford. This role is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual with strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

As part of the operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the receipt, checking, and organization of goods while ensuring a safe, efficient, and professional working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and check incoming deliveries, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and delivery dockets.
• Unload vehicles safely using a forklift or manual handling as required.
• Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report issues to the Yard or Branch Manager.
• Organize, label, and store materials in the correct yard or warehouse locations.
• Prepare materials for dispatch and assist in loading outgoing orders when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in line with Health & Safety standards.
• Assist and engage with customers in the yard, providing friendly and efficient service.
• Support stock control and inventory processes as directed by management.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, or goods inward role (construction materials experience an advantage).
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Knowledge of building materials desirable but not essential — full training provided.
