The Role: Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the Group Financial Accountant is responsible for the management of the financial and tax compliance processes across the Group. This role is perfect for a person looking for an entry level first role in industry or someone who has a few years industrial experience. You will be joining an expanding multi-national Group environment in an organisation which has strong growth plans, both organically and via acquisition. It is a great role and an opportunity to develop your skillset and grow with the Group.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, technically strong, possess strong organisation skills, is comfortable around a changing environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once and take on new challenges.
Reporting to: Group CFO
Hours: 37 hrs per week.
Days: Monday – Friday.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the Group statutory consolidated financial statements.
- Liaising with the external Auditors including management of the year-end audit process.
- Responsible for all acquisition and technical accounting within the Group, including support to subsidiaries.
- Responsibility for ensuring all tax returns (corporation and direct tax) get filed in a timely and accurate manner, either directly for some head office companies, or indirectly via the subsidiary company accountants.
- Working with our external advisors, to lead the tax planning in the Group, with particular focus on acquisitions in new territories.
- Implement and develop the tax transfer pricing policies within the Group.
- M&A support, including due diligence.
- Treasury and insurance responsibilities.
- Ad-hoc project work.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Suitable for a newly qualified accountant or person with some industrial experience.
- Strong technical accounting skillset.
- Comfortable around taxation compliance, tax qualification is not a requirement.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and problem solve.
- Willingness to learn, progress and ability to assume responsibility.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Offer: This is a full-time permanent role based at our clients modern offices in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. The salary on offer is commensurate with the skills & experience of the successful candidate but is expected to be in the range of approx. €60-€65k per annum with excellent benefits including:
