Our client, a dynamic and growing specialist contractor, is currently seeking a Key Works Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual elements of key projects across Ireland.

This role involves working with a varied client base including government bodies, educational institutions, and private sector operators. The successful candidate will take ownership of commercial operations from initial costing and contract negotiation through to project completion. Collaborating closely with technical project managers, this role ensures all commercial deliverables are met efficiently and profitably.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate cost projections and tender submissions based on site evaluations and project scope.
  • Manage contract negotiation processes with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, aligning with internal compliance standards.
  • Administer and review all contract documentation, ensuring legal and commercial accuracy throughout the project.
  • Track project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow, providing timely financial updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Identify financial or contractual risks and implement mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Oversee preparation of billing claims and final account settlements.
  • Support dispute resolution and ensure adherence to contractual commitments.
  • Work in tandem with technical teams to align financial and operational project targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including clients and external vendors.
  • Contribute to post-project evaluations and internal reporting for continuous improvement.

 

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial, estimating, or contract management role within construction or engineering.
  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage commercial workflows across multiple project phases.
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical systems within the contracting environment is desirable.
  • Familiarity with public sector procurement and compliance processes is advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial tracking tools and project management systems.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland without restriction
