We are working in partnership with our client, a leading Irish engineering and construction services contractor delivering complex projects across life sciences, pharmaceuticals, data centres, and advanced manufacturing.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their team in Tralee, taking responsibility for the delivery of high-value, technically challenging projects in regulated environments. The business offers strong long-term stability, repeat client work, and clear progression opportunities for senior delivery professionals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, budgeting, and scheduling from start to finish.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure projects meet client requirements and timelines.
  • Utilize client-specific systems to track project progress, ensuring all teams are compliant with operational procedures.
  • Manage cross-department collaboration (BIM, Engineering, QA, Procurement) to ensure effective team performance.
  • Perform regular site inspections to monitor project progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed.
  • Handle financial aspects of projects, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
  • Manage budget expenditure and monitor cost control procedures.
  • Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to the client and senior management.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to identify and resolve risks and issues.
  • Support Directors and Site Managers to achieve business goals and resolve project challenges.

 

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years of mechanical project engineering experience.
  • Experience working with MEP engineering contractors or main contractors on Life Science, Semi-Conductor, or Data Centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, and Process systems, including design, installation, and operation.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe as needed.
  • Full driving license required.
