Job Description & Responsibilities

The Production Foreman will oversee safe and efficient production, ensuring deadlines are met. Responsibilities include organizing work, supervising staff, and enhancing performance and quality.

 

Core responsibilities:

  • Guide and instruct team members to work safely and productively, adhering to company policies and safety regulations, in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure production deadlines align with schedules and delivery commitments, meeting the needs of other departments as a sub-supplier.
  • Accountable for the health, safety, and welfare of supervised employees and apprentices, as well as others in the supervisory area, on behalf of Liebherr.
  • Organize and prepare work for the department, maintaining adequate work levels and managing shift schedules.
  • Supervise department employees, monitor performance and quality, and address any HR/IR issues.
  • Enhance quality and productivity through optimal employee allocation, work practice revisions, and effective use of tools and machinery.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate the team for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Plan and prioritize workload and resources in line with the Production Planning System, due dates, and departmental needs.
  • Communicate with Maintenance for machine servicing.
  • Coordinate with other departments to determine supply requirements and optimize material/process flow and quality.
  • Provide and facilitate training to increase employee flexibility within the department.
  • Compile reports and update schedules as necessary.
  • Monitor and control company processes to meet quality objectives and requirements.
  • Continuously strive to improve quality across the department.
  • Support and implement Lean manufacturing techniques (Visual Factory, Kanban, etc.).
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.

 

Qualifications / Skills

  • Qualified tradesperson and/or relevant third-level qualification
  • Machining Experience desirable
  • Previous management experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solver and self-motivated
