Our client, a leading consultancy in the engineering sector, is known for delivering top-notch engineering solutions. They are currently in search of an experienced Project Engineer to join their dynamic team in Galway.
Candidates must have a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or an equivalent qualification) and possess 2 to 6 years of experience, depending on the practical knowledge gained in previous roles.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities, ensuring designs meet client specifications.
- Review designs and plans prepared by less experienced engineers.
- Develop preliminary designs and reports, which will be used to produce detailed design drawings and technical specifications.
- Assist with procurement activities for site investigations and civil engineering projects.
- Provide support in preparing and assessing tender documents and evaluating contractor proposals.
- Ensure construction contracts are administered in accordance with project timelines, design requirements, and budget constraints.
- Follow directives from Line Managers and senior project team members to ensure smooth project execution.
Skills Required:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for interacting with clients and project teams.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and eager to learn AutoCAD 3D and Building Information Modelling (BIM) software such as AutoDesk REVIT.
- Ability to work with engineering software tools like MicroDrainage, Microsoft Access, and GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS).
- Understanding of construction contracts, including PWMF Forms of Contract.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project and other relevant software to manage project schedules and tasks effectively.
