My client is actively seeking an experienced Project Operations Lead to oversee operations across a portfolio of wastewater treatment sites. This senior-level opportunity is ideal for a professional with a background in engineering and plant operations who thrives in a leadership role within a highly collaborative environment.

This role bridges the gap between the construction phase of new sites and their seamless integration into long-term operational routines. You will provide strategic oversight during interim operations and work in partnership with design, process, and mechanical specialists to ensure facilities run at optimal performance levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct a cross-functional operations team delivering services across multiple wastewater facilities.

  • Act as primary liaison between commissioning teams and ongoing O&M activities.

  • Implement robust maintenance schedules and respond to operational challenges as they arise.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental obligations on all active sites.

  • Monitor operational data and performance metrics, delivering concise reports to senior leadership.

  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, and resource planning for all assigned assets.

  • Drive a positive stakeholder experience through effective communication and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Support commissioning processes and guide projects from design-build through to fully operational status.

  • Mentor engineering staff, promote team development, and support internal training initiatives.

  • Contribute to process improvements, share learnings across projects, and promote best practices.

Key Skills:

  • 5+ years in a senior O&M, utilities, or infrastructure project role—preferably within water or wastewater sectors.

  • Degree (Level 8 or equivalent) in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Strong technical expertise in treatment plant operations and hands-on experience with mechanical and process systems.

  • Competence in planning, reporting, and team coordination under time-sensitive conditions.

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office tools and digital reporting platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills in client-facing scenarios.

  • Full, clean driving licence required.
