Our clients are internationally approved to Design, Manufacture, Install, Service & Commission to all standards & have experience in Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Protection, Firewater Mist Protection, Insert Gas Protection & Special Hazard Fire Protection.

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Designer to create fire protection sprinkler systems for high-profile clients. The role includes producing AutoCAD and Revit drawings, conducting hydraulic calculations, managing project schedules, and preparing submittals. You'll collaborate with operations and installation teams to resolve design issues and review all sprinkler designs before submission to the project team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design fire protection sprinkler systems for commercial and high-profile clients.
• Produce AutoCAD and Revit drawings for electrical and mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Perform hydraulic calculations using industry-recognized software.
• Oversee project scheduling and prepare submittals for project documentation.
• Collaborate with operations and installation teams to resolve design issues and update drawings.
• Approve all aspects of sprinkler system designs before submission to the project team.
• Generate installation, construction, and fabrication drawings.
• Conduct clash detection using Revit and Navisworks, and manage coordination across disciplines.
• Extract BOQs and produce detailed fabrication drawings.
• Mentor junior designers and project team members.

Hours: 37hrs per week

Days: Monday – Thursday, 9am-5.30pm, Friday, 9am-5pm

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Fire Sprinkler Designer.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, 2D AutoCAD, and Revit MEP design software, with experience in systems like AutoSPRINK.
• Skilled in clash detection using Navisworks and Revit, with experience reviewing and managing clash reports.
• Expertise in large commercial fire protection systems.
• Competent in interpreting architectural and engineering plans for Irish and European projects.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Eligibility to work in the Republic of Ireland, with the ability to relocate or commute to Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

Desirable Criteria

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with BIM 360 and onsite construction industry knowledge.
• On-site construction experience in fire protection systems.
