Elite Talent Hub LTD is a specialist in permanent staffing solutions for clients globally.

Our client is currently seeking a motivated Transport Planner to join their team, to co-ordinate Transport Activities for a busy International Distribution Company in Shannon.

Coordination of a large fleet of vehicles, Rigid, articulated and tankers, as well as contracted hauliers, whilst overseeing and executing deliveries in an efficient and safe manner.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensuring cost efficiency and driver productivity is optimised by utilising the fleet in the most cost effective and efficient manner
  • Organising and planning daily routes
  • Co-ordinating vans and couriers
  • Liaising with staff in customer services & production in order to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Scheduling vehicles for maintenance in consultation with Transport Administrator
  • Ensuring the companys statutory obligations are met in relation to health and safety, custom requirements, drivershours regulations and environmental controls on fuel emissions.
  • In addition to this the role will be accountable for the day-to-day logistical operations of the business, identifying and implementing process improvements in a busy Distribution environment, and any other duties as the role develops. 

 

Education

  • Third level Logistics
  • Transport Management
  • Supply Chain Management or equivalent education is advantageous

 

Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with Fleet Management systems, ERP systems, Microsoft Office package etc
  • Strategic thinker with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Self-driven with experience in continuous improvement methods such as lean and other best practice productivity processes

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail

 

Incentives and Rewards

  • Salary range - 33-36k
  • Pension - Up to a max of 5% Employee & 5% Employer Contribution

  • Time off in Lieu - Allowing any additional hours worked to be taken as days off, with a maximum of 5 days leave to be taken in a calendar year
