Our client, a well-established & reputable company in the food & beverage sector are now seeking a Buyer/Planning Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis in their Limerick HQ offices.
The Role: This is an excellent opportunity to join an ambitious, growth driven, well-respected business, specialising in the supply of fresh and prepared foods to the 5 Star Hotel industry as well as the wider hospitality and catering food sector nationwide.
You will be working within our clients experienced Fulfilment Team in a close-knit, dynamic and fast-paced business. You will be responsible for sourcing and supplying the best of fresh and chilled food ingredients to their customers across the catering and hospitality sector.
The key duties of this role will include:
- Together with their team of experienced Buyers, you’ll work closely with our clients trusted local growers and producers to ensure their customers are getting the best available in-season produce available.
- Plan and process daily and weekly purchase order requirements through their preferred vendors.
- Plan and arrange logistics, including our own fleet’s back-haul collections to minimise their carbon-footprint.
- Optimise order frequency and stock inventory to drive Lean and sustainable ordering practices.
- Maintain and update Vendor price files, together with Purchase related HACCP and ISO records.
- Work closely with the Lead Buyer internally to develop mutually rewarding supplier relationships.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Skills/Requirements:
- You will ideally have 1-2 year’s experience working in a Supply Chain, Purchasing or Logistics role.
- Diploma or Degree qualified in Supply Chain or a related field preferred.
- Great interpersonal skills and preferably experience in confidently negotiating win/win outcomes.
- Experience of dealing with suppliers and customers.
- Strong IT skills and proficient in the MS Office suite.
- Positive energy and readiness to contribute to the company Team culture.
- Good numeracy skills, with strong attention to detail.
Offer: This is a full-time permanent role and the salary on offer is commensurate with the skills & experience of the successful candidate but is expected to be in the range of approx. €30-€36k per annum.
