Our client, a growing & reputable manufacturing company based in Co. Tipperary are now seeking a Company Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis due to continued expansion.
Role: Assist the Financial Controller and the management team in decision making and analysis. This is an onsite role, and our client require someone who is a fast learner and can work well under pressure and on their own initiative. The successful candidate will be given the necessary support and tools to grow and develop their career further within this exciting business.
The key duties of this role will include:
- Full responsibility for onsite stock management and liaising with project managers and production managers with regard to component ordering.
- Assist in highlighting stock control issues.
- Understand and investigate production variances.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify opportunities to develop and improve financial processes.
- Assist with year-end audit.
- Assist accounts payable function to resolve invoice issues.
- Cover for the Financial Controller when required.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Perform reconciliations of accounts, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies.
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support the accurate and timely completion of financial tasks.
- Attend and contribute towards daily/weekly meetings.
- Support the implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with various stakeholders within the business.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- A minimum of 2-3 year’s PQE working within industry. Experience working in the manufacturing sector would be desirable.
- A high degree of commercial awareness with excellent analytical, technical and IT skills.
- Strong accounts preparation & business analysis experience required.
- Proficient across the MS Office suite with advanced MS Excel knowledge. Experience using Sage Line 50 an advantage.
- The ability to use initiative and have a ‘hands on’ approach.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills.
