Our client are an International operator in the Municipal and Industrial Water and Wastewater sectors. Their presence in Ireland has grown strongly over the past number of years and as a result they are now seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to Join their team.
Due to the Seniority of this role you will have the option of working remotely if you prefer.
In this role, you will be a key player in the design and project execution team, focusing on the coordination of design tasks, providing technical guidance to design engineers, and approving detailed designs including mechanical equipment selection, hydraulic systems, and engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop technical solutions, including equipment selection and specifications, hydraulic design, plant layouts, and P&IDs.
- Lead client relationships from initial concept through feasibility, detailed design, implementation, and final delivery.
- Mentor and coach design teams to create optimal design solutions to technical challenges.
- Coordinate design team members to ensure timely information delivery, review team members' work, and support their professional development.
- Use design templates and software to perform calculations and assist in equipment selection.
- Ensure all Design Documentation complies with the Project Quality Plan and specific project requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on technical issues throughout the projects.
Key Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Level 7/8/9) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the Water Industry.
- Previous experience in managing people.
- Ability to work independently and manage design processes effectively.
- Practical site experience (Desirable).
- Experience with hydraulic design templates and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
