This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and progressive team delivering landmark developments across Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring seamless coordination of the design process, working closely with internal teams, external consultants, and client stakeholders to drive project success from pre-construction through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the central coordinator between the client’s design team, internal departments, and external consultants to ensure consistent and aligned design delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the design process to deliver accurate and timely information that aligns with the construction schedule, budget, client specifications, brand standards, and sustainability requirements (LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Organize and chair regular design team meetings and workshops, ensuring clear documentation and timely circulation of actions and outcomes.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the design programme in collaboration with appointed consultants to meet all critical project milestones.
  • Drive timely resolution of critical design decisions, aligned with procurement and construction timelines.
  • Review project documentation to identify information gaps and issue comprehensive information requests.
  • Evaluate design team outputs to ensure compliance with design intent, scope, building regulations, planning, and statutory obligations.
  • Propose value engineering options to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising design quality.
  • Anticipate potential design risks or issues and work collaboratively with the design team to resolve them early.
  • Respond promptly to design-related queries from stakeholders across the project.
  • Oversee the submittal and approval process for designs and materials, ensuring alignment with client expectations and timely sign-off.
  • Review and coordinate design proposals from specialist subcontractors and suppliers to ensure full compliance and integration with overall project design.
  • Identify and address interface issues between various trade elements to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Manage sample schedules and benchmark schedules (first-of-kind) to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Log all additional scope changes or instructions (including verbal directives) from clients or stakeholders to ensure accurate tracking.
  • Ensure timely distribution of all design information and drawings to relevant project teams.
  • Provide clear and concise design briefings to construction delivery teams to support effective execution and delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in design coordination or design management within Tier 1 construction or major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, procurement, and project delivery timelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements (building regulations, planning, LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary design meetings and workshops.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.
  • Competent in reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submissions.
  • Experience in value engineering and identifying cost-effective design solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with digital design tools, document control systems, and project management software.
