We are delighted to be partnering with our client, who are a growing company in the aviation sector and who have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join their team based in their Shannon offices.
This is a new role in the business which has come about due to ongoing growth. The successful candidate will work in a hybrid arrangement of 3-4 days onsite in their Shannon office and 1-2 days remote. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Financial Accountant with at least 2-3 PQE to be a part of our client’s ambitious growth plans over the coming years where there will be excellent prospects for career progression on offer for the successful candidate.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager in Shannon, the key duties of this role will include:
- Assist with the financial planning and analysis for each of the group companies.
- Review of monthly/ quarterly results and analysis of variances.
- Monitor GL on an ongoing basis to ensure correct classification of costs, review of all transactions and liaising with external Financial Service Provider in relation to any variances and communicating any necessary corrections.
- Assist with the banking & cash management/ forecasting.
- Point of contact for the finance team on finance/ accounting matters.
- Preparation of quarter end submissions to our parent company.
- Preparation and submission of monthly/ quarterly reports to banks.
- Integrating process changes and updating / creating standard operating procedures where necessary.
- Assist with the accounts payable function.
- Liaise with Auditors and Tax advisors.
- Completion of various ad hoc projects / duties as required.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with at least 2-3 years PQE.
- Experience working in Aircraft Leasing/Financial Services would be desirable.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Understanding of IFRS.
- Highly organized with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to transition between working independently and within teams.
- Comfortable using own initiative, identifying challenges and appropriate solutions.
