Our client is a leader in communications and electrical installations for over 25 years. They specialise in the installation, termination, and testing of fibre optic, voice, and electrical networks across Europe.

Due to continued growth in their European market, they are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join the team. This role requires a strong commitment to our safety culture and the ability to lead by example, guiding our technicians on the ground. The successful candidate will report directly to the Health & Safety Manager and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across our projects in Spain and Europe.

 

Health & Safety Officer

Location: Zaragoza, Spain (with travel to projects across Europe)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and implement site rules and company health & safety policies effectively.
  • Advise management on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental issues.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company and client procedures.
  • Review and update site documentation, including Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Deliver health & safety induction programmes for personnel working on site.
  • Represent the company at site meetings as required.
  • Provide health & safety advice and guidance to relevant personnel on site.
  • Compile accident and incident reports.
  • Conduct weekly Toolbox Talks and site-specific emergency drills.
  • Arrange and maintain all safety training requirements.
  • Undertake regular site visits to projects across Spain and Europe.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Health & Safety or equivalent.
  • Some experience in safety and/or environmental management is advantageous.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of safety legislation in Ireland and Europe.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, training, and presentation skills.
