Position: HVAC/Air Conditioning Maintenance Engineer

Location: Dublin

 

Job Description

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimising, and troubleshooting AC units to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • AC System Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on air conditioning systems, including split systems, central air units, ductless systems, and associated controls.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve AC system issues promptly, utilising technical expertise and diagnostic tools to maintain optimal functioning and minimise downtime.
  • Optimisation and Upgrades: Assess and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and performance of AC systems, recommending upgrades or modifications as needed for improved energy efficiency and performance.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations during maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel involved in AC system maintenance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, component replacements, and upgrades. Generate detailed reports outlining completed work and recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams or external contractors to schedule and execute AC maintenance tasks efficiently, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Time served Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineer with a minimum of FETAC Level 6 complete with F-Gas registration
  • Thorough understanding of various types of air conditioning systems, components, and associated controls, along with demonstrated expertise in maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing AC system issues and executing preventive maintenance following manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations pertaining to AC system maintenance.
  • Experience with advanced AC technologies, smart controls, and energy-efficient solutions in air conditioning systems would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and their application in enhancing the energy efficiency of AC systems. Previous involvement in the commercial and industrial sectors with a focus on boiler maintenance and additional mechanical systems would be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid/Full clean drivers licence
