Our client is seeking an ambitious and results-driven professional to lead within a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment based in Shannon, Co Clare. As a key member of the management team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency and supporting the success of the business.

 

This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Manager to oversee and enhance the operational effectiveness of key manufacturing service centres that support final assembly operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Capacity Planning
    • Develop and implement production capacity plans and workflows to optimize resources and meet output targets.
    • Oversee, plan, organize, and direct daily operations of moulding and surface mount assembly through relevant managers and supervisors.
    • Provide leadership in the operational management of the plant, ensuring alignment with core KPIs.
    • Implement strategic initiatives that align with company objectives, providing clear direction to production teams.
  • Quality Control
    • Oversee quality control processes to ensure compliance with company standards and customer expectations.
    • Implement and manage programs to monitor production outputs for defects, PPM levels, 6S, and yield improvements.
  • Cost Management
    • Monitor and control production costs, ensuring manufacturing processes remain within budget.
    • Manage expenses related to labor, materials, and overhead to maximize efficiency.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Drive continuous improvement across all key aspects of manufacturing support services.
  • Team Management & Development
    • Lead and manage a team of technical professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Oversee hiring, training, and development of staff to enhance technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Health & Safety
    • Enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
    • Work closely with safety officers and compliance teams to ensure the highest standards in health and safety across all support services and facilities.
  • Sustainability Initiatives
    • Lead key sustainability initiatives to ensure the company meets its net carbon-neutral target by 2030.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 and drive energy efficiency improvements across manufacturing operations.
  • Technology Integration
    • Stay ahead of technological advancements and drive the adoption of automation and new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of operational experience, preferably at a technical management level, within a team-based operational environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, or related field) or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and leverage the talents of cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing business strategies and action plans.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing technical teams in a high-performance environment.
