They are internationally approved to Design, Manufacture, Install, Service & Commission to all standards & have Award Winning expertise in Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Protection, Firewater Mist Protection, Insert Gas Protection & Special Hazard Fire Protection.

 

The Role: Our clients office/workshop is based in Mullingar Co. Westmeath, but their Service Technicians attend sites all over Ireland, UK, Europe and other worldwide destinations. Therefore, it is required that the Technicians stay away on average 10-12 nights per month. It is also required that the Technicians attend base before going to site and so must be within a commutable distance to our clients offices in Mullingar. This job is an immediate start with full & comprehensive training provided for the successful candidate.

 

Ideal Candidate:

This role is perfect for a person requiring a challenge and who is willing to learn. The successful candidate will work on electrical control systems and mechanical piping systems. Experience in both would be a distinct advantage. The successful candidate will be servicing diesel engine driven fire pumps and experience servicing engines would be a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will have experience filling out accurate paperwork/reports, be highly motivated and demonstrate a defined sense of urgency. You will be methodical in all areas of your work, have some computer/tablet skills and have experience in dealing with customers. A full drivers licence is required, and Fluency in English is essential for this role. Company vehicle, mobile phone and iPad provided.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and inspection of pump units and alarm valve arrangements on site based on companys standard operating procedures and in-house training.
  • Fault finding and installation of control wiring systems and panels for the above.
  • Stripping and overhauling of pumps and alarm valves.
  • Fault finding and installation of pumps, engines, and motors.
  • Filling out of report for each visit to site on iPad.
  • Compiling detailed work orders for items requiring repair on site.
  • Installation fitting and manufacturing of small piping systems.
  • Other ad hoc duties as the role requires.

 

Skills & Abilities Required:

  • 3rd Level Qualification and/or Trade Qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
  • Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritise issues based on business urgency.
  • Following and executing company policies and objectives.
  • The ability to function successfully as part of a team and work on own initiative.
  • Full Clean driving licence.
  • Strong customer service skills with ability to interact confidently and professionally with end customer.
  • Good communication skills.

 

Hours: Minimum working week is 42.5 hours including travel time allowance.

Site and travel allowance is paid.
