Our client is inviting applications for the position of Professionally Qualified Social Worker to join their Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) based in Limerick.

 

Please note that both Staff and senior grade roles are available

 

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary Range: €50,000 – €67,000 DOE

Annual Leave: 34 days per annum, pro rata

 

Position Summary:

This role involves working within an interdisciplinary setting, delivering evidence-based and family-centred services to children and young individuals (ages 0–18). The post also supports the home share team, contributing to the overall effectiveness and responsiveness of the disability services provided.

 

Key Responsibilities

Practice-Based Duties:

  • Deliver social work services including assessments, support, advice, advocacy, and information to children and families.
  • Act as a keyworker and coordinate family-centred interventions.
  • Facilitate parent/carer groups and contribute to training initiatives.
  • Liaise with relevant external services and professionals to support care planning, home support, and safeguarding needs.
  • Attend case conferences and contribute to child protection processes in line with national policy.
  • Maintain high standards of professional practice, documentation, and case management.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to interdisciplinary team reviews.

 

Interagency & Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate with statutory and voluntary agencies to support integrated care delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings, policy development, and service planning activities.

 

Quality, Compliance & Development:

  • Ensure adherence to legislation, confidentiality standards, and best practice guidelines.
  • Contribute to service audits, evaluations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, research, and best practices.
  • Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development.

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage records accurately on the designated information system.
  • Contribute to planning and reporting processes including identifying service gaps.
  • Support general administrative tasks as required by team leadership.

 

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Eligible for or currently registered with CORU on the Social Workers Register.
  • Demonstrated capability and expertise relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Proof of CORU registration must be submitted before employment is confirmed.
  • Ongoing registration with CORU is required throughout the employment period.

 

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Direct experience working with children and families.
  • Background in supporting children with disabilities.
  • Previous involvement in interdisciplinary team environments.
  • Familiarity with the disability services sector through multiple years of experience.
