As Environmental Sustainability Manager with our client, you will play a key role in leading and implementing environmental strategies across their fit-out and refurbishment projects. You will ensure sustainability is embedded in the entire project lifecycle, with a specific focus on compliance, performance improvement, and client value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BER (Building Energy Rating) Roadmapping across our portfolio, driving energy performance improvements and client advisory.
- Possess advanced knowledge of ISO 14001 compliance and assurance, with a clear understanding of relevant environmental aspects.
- Oversee and conduct environmental management reviews and ensure that associated procedures and project-specific plans are continuously improved.
- Translate strategic environmental themes (including decarbonisation, circular economy, biodiversity, and climate adaptation) into practical actions on site.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, internal protocols, and Irish environmental regulations.
- Champion best practices across operations and supply chain, promoting awareness and delivery of sustainability commitments.
- Attend site and project meetings, advising on environmental risk, performance, and compliance.
- Monitor project-level data and conduct environmental performance reviews to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Support environmental data governance and produce relevant KPIs that provide meaningful insights to project teams and clients.
- Maintain a client-centric approach, contributing to value-added solutions and sustainability innovation within client projects.
- Engage with operational and commercial leadership to integrate sustainability goals with project delivery.
- Prepare and deliver sustainability reports, forecasts, and impact analyses as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and clients to define a cohesive path towards low-impact, high-performance interiors.
- Understand and communicate how environmental sustainability intersects with health & safety, quality, and commercial operations.
Key Skills:
- An experienced and qualified Environmental Sustainability Manager, ideally with a background in fit-out, interiors, or commercial refurbishment.
- Strong knowledge of Irish energy efficiency regulations and BER certification, with experience creating and implementing BER Roadmaps for commercial spaces.
- Proven ability to implement and monitor mitigation measures in line with Environmental Operating Plans (EOP), project environmental strategies, and relevant impact statements (e.g. EIS/NIS).
- Practical knowledge of environmental assessment and certification tools such as LEED, BREEAM, WELL, or NABERS.
- Full membership and/or chartership with a recognised professional environmental institution (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, or similar).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a matrix project structure, across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with a solutions-focused mindset.
