Our client is seeking to appoint an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of projects across the Munster region. This is a permanent, Munster-based role and presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor who is keen to progress their career within a well-established electrical contracting environment.
The successful candidate will ideally come from an Electrical Engineering or trade electrician background, bringing strong technical understanding alongside proven commercial capability. You will work across multiple contracts, taking full commercial responsibility from tender stage through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered with maximum commercial efficiency and margin protection.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Review and administer contracts, ensuring full contractual compliance

Manage operational procurement activities in conjunction with the Procurement Department

Forecast and manage cash flow across a portfolio of live projects

Provide accurate commercial reporting, cost control and budget management

Identify commercial risks and provide data-driven analysis to management

Implement and improve best-practice commercial processes and controls

Monitor project programmes and report on planned versus actual progress

Manage and maintain strong client relationships from a commercial perspective

Prepare progress applications, cost reports and monthly management accounts

Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations and final accounts

Support the Commercial Director and provide commercial assurance on assigned projects

Ensure accurate forecasting of margins, cash flow and overall commercial performance
Candidate Requirements:

Strong technical background within electrical contracting or construction

Proven experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Minimum of 4 years’ experience working on building or electrical projects

3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline

Knowledge of Electrical Engineering is a strong advantage

High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

Excellent written communication and commercial negotiation ability

Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
