Position Summary:

The Site Engineer will play an active role in delivering civil engineering works on site. This role supports junior engineers and collaborates with senior engineering and site teams to ensure precise execution, safety compliance, and project efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental compliance in coordination with SHQE teams
  • Carry out accurate site setting-out and surveying activities
  • Review construction drawings and technical documentation to confirm completeness and suitability
  • Complete quality inspections and maintain related documentation
  • Provide clear instructions and updates to supervisors and foremen
  • Support and mentor assistant and junior engineers on-site
  • Assist with temporary works coordination and design input
  • Monitor site safety and work standards, addressing any non-conformance promptly
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, design teams, and supply chain partners
  • Prepare and review risk assessments and method statements
  • Keep a detailed and up-to-date site diary, including subcontractor activities and daily project notes
  • Ensure inspection and testing plans (ITPs) are followed accurately
  • Coordinate with commercial teams on cost, variation, and contractual matters
  • Contribute to and uphold the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement goals

 

Requirements:

  • Relevant CSCS certification and competency qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience on civil engineering projects
  • Proficient in setting out techniques and use of total station/surveying equipment
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and project specifications
  • Familiarity with CAD and digital surveying tools
  • Ability to develop and implement method statements and safe systems of work
  • Effective communicator capable of engaging with clients, teams, and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of relevant Irish civil engineering, health & safety, and environmental regulations
  • Commercial awareness relating to large infrastructure projects
